Season 2 of Publisher NFTs Sale Achieves Massive Success for Animoca Brands

Animoca Brands’ Publisher NFTs Surpass Expectations

Animoca Brands recently announced that the second season of its Publisher NFTs has exceeded all expectations by selling out. The sale of all 720 Publisher NFTs brought in a total of 538,560 EDU tokens, equivalent to approximately $315,517 at the time of sale.

First Batch of TinyTap Publisher NFTs

In November 2022, the company reported that the first batch of six TinyTap Publisher NFTs had also sold out, generating a revenue of 138.926 ETH, approximately $228,000 at the time of sale. The six teachers who authored the content linked to the Publisher NFTs received a total of 67.7 ETH, equivalent to approximately $111,000 at the time of sale.

Animoca Brands to Compensate Educators with Sale Revenue

The Publisher NFTs were created by Animoca’s subsidiary and edtech platform TinyTap, with the sale facilitated by the Web3 education protocol Open Campus. The revenue generated from the sale will serve as upfront and continuous income for the 168 educators on the TinyTap platform.

Impact of Publisher NFTs

When TinyTap introduced the concept of Publisher NFTs, its aim was to support content creators in the education and publishing field, granting them better rights to their educational content on the platform. With the introduction of Publisher NFTs, creators now receive 50% of the proceeds from their NFTs, a 10% ongoing share of the revenue, and a 5% royalty from secondary sales of their NFTs.

Digital Assets’ Influence on Education

Publisher NFTs have had a significant impact on the education sector, allowing creators to focus on generating more content. Those who purchase the NFTs become co-publishers of the linked content, receiving up to 80% of the revenue share the content generates.

Yogev Shelly, CEO of TinyTap, emphasized that the recent sale brings more than just earning opportunities for creators. Shelly believes it is about building a future where communities influence curricula and empower teachers and content creators to achieve true educational autonomy.

Founded in 2012, TinyTap is now the world’s largest educational games library, having worked with notable publishers such as Oxford University Press, Sesame Street, and Pinkfong. The success of the Publisher NFT sales demonstrates the growing influence of digital assets in reshaping the education sector.
